Not been for a while but I have always had a great day out when I do go

I went for a hockey tournament and the hall was very well set up and the changing rooms were clean

Took my daughter to get a badminton lesson on one of the courts at 7:00pm. Booked in advance only to arrive and find the court she'd been allocated was covered with 30-40 judo mats and two larger mats with no-one using them.At 6:50pm four of us started to clear them away. At 7:00pm one of the staff members came in and approached me to reprimand me for moving the mats, just as I'd moved the last one away from the badminton court. When asked why she and her colleague were coming to set up a court after the time it was to be available, she snapped that they had five minutes turnaround time for each booking (meaning you're going to get 55 minutes at most). I pointed out that it had taken four of us ten minutes to move all the mats, but apparently they would have done it in half the time.Having to move the mats is annoying when you want to get started straight away, but similar things have happened in the past and you let them go because the staff are probably busy. Getting reprimanded, snapped at and condescended to isn't acceptable though. It's supposed to be a customer facing role.If you can use any of RL facilities elsewhere for any of the sports halls, I'd recommend you avoid the Lagoon. The facilities themselves are good (hence 2*, not 1*), but it's not enough in itself.

They do plenty of gym classes from aquafit to body pump. The Eve Spa is located inside and their services are very good. There is a cafe inside (service could have been better). I only given it 3 stars due to the wave machine never working and the pool hasn't changed since I was a kid. There is only 1 slide and be prepared leaving the water to your locker as you will be bloody freezing.

I personally love this place. It's got the gym spa swimming and huge range of fitness classes. Disabled access. Friendly staff who are helpful. Car parking facilities. Handy and very local from the town centre.
