Well... One star is a very fitting review considering there was one person at the entire establishment that didn't treat my partner and I like absolute garbage. We received dangerous automobiles, the first didn't make it 100 yards out of the lot before blowing a tire. They additionally advised to drive back on the rims, because ya know that's logical. Finally, one their employee's named Michael, came out a fixed the tire. He was a super solid dude, and about the only good thing in our experience. They clearly showed disdain for us using for CC's provided insurance. After we blew the tire, they attempted to force us to just sign a blank iPad and weren't able to explain what we we're agreeing to. Save yourself the trouble, the time and the money. I ended up spending an additionally $400 USD due to their poorly maintain vehicles and was treated poorly in process.
DO NOT rent with Hertz at the Glascow Airport! They are unprofessional and will wrongfully accuse you of damage. They are definitely running a scam. We returned our vehicle after hours in the EXACT same condition we got it. We returned the vehicle at 10pm then just 4 hours later, which was 1:45AM, they sent me an email saying we caused damaged, and included pictures that were time stamped at 7AM. That's 5 hours after the email was sent. I really don't think they are able to time travel. They are clearly falsifying documentation to scam money out of people. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because it is not possible to give them -10 stars. Avoid them at all costs.
They wrongfully accused us of damage. We had reported it before we left, and dropped it off in the after hours lot, only to be falsely accused of damage. Before that they totally took advantage of our jet lag and told us the car we rented wasn't available. They convinced us to rent a big car, way way too big for the roads of Scotland and then it was 5x the price. We were so tired we went ahead and rented it. We told the guy as we were leaving of the damage, he said it was noted and it was not. Then we get hit with a huge fee of $600 for damages we most certainly did not cause. Do not rent from here. They are obviously running a scam. There was not one Hertz employee in the lot when we returned it. If there was damage, it was most certainly not caused by us.
I went to Hertz at Glasgow airport having been badly let down by another company after my flight was delayed. The person on the desk was really understanding and helpful, and the rental process went smoothly. In the end I paid the same amount as the supposedly cheaper company I originally booked with. A lesson in that.
Great pickup at Bath and drop off at Glasgow. Only problem was that they couldn't issue a wifi unit in Bath as they said they did have any system for that, even though someone just dropped off one. Car was great. Over 1700miles travelled throughout England and Scotland.
